- Prepare Coals: Start charcoal briquettes in a chimney or fire pan and set aside while they are red hot.

- Prepare the Dutch Oven: Line the oven with aluminum foil for easy cleanup.

- Layer the Filling: Spread the fruit pie filling evenly at the bottom of the oven.2 cans of fruit pie filling (apple or peach works best)

- Add the Cake Mix: Sprinkle the dry cake mix over the fruit. Do not stir.1 box of dry spice cake mix (or yellow cake mix for variety)

- Add Butter: Cut butter into thin slices and place evenly over the cake mix. Sprinkle top with Cinnamon to taste.1 stick of butter, sliced, ¼ tsp Cinnamon

- Baking:For camping: Arrange 13 charcoal briquettes underneath and 12 on top of the oven lid. Cook for 20-30 minutes, rotating the oven and lid every 10 minutes to avoid hot spots.For home: Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for 20-30 minutes until golden and bubbly.

- Serve: Once done, serve with vanilla ice cream for an extra treat.
